{"id":219,"date":"2016-12-31T18:00:50","date_gmt":"2016-12-31T14:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=219"},"modified":"2020-07-30T21:06:39","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T17:06:39","slug":"multi-faceted-anti-corruption-promotion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/219.html","title":{"rendered":"Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The \u201cMulti-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion\u201d project is funded by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eeas.europa.eu\/delegations\/armenia\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">European Union<\/a><\/strong> and co-funded by the OCSE Yerevan office and implemented by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ayla.am\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cArmenian Lawyers&#8217; Association\u201d NGO<\/a><\/strong> and the partner organization<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/foi.am\/en\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cFreedom of Information Center\u201d NGO<\/a><\/strong>. Project duration is 3 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a008 January, 2014\u00a0\u2013 31 December, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The initial budget of the project was \u20ac 650,000 euros, of which \u20ac 585,000 euros should have been provided by the EU.<\/p>\n<p>The final budget of the project was \u20ac 643,960, of which 579,564 euros was provided by the EU, and \u20ac 31,277 euros was provided by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project aims to increase the role of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in promoting anti-corruption reforms and their implementation. Trainings aimed to enhance the monitoring and watchdog capacities of the CSOs and Media Organizations will be organized in Yerevan and in the RA marzes for local SCOs and Media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Establishment of the Anti-Corruption Coalition will increase in the effectiveness of public scrutiny of the anti-corruption reforms of the RA Government\u2019s programme and the 2012-2016 Strategic Programme for Legal and Judicial Reforms in the Republic of Armenia. Small grants will be provided to CSOs and media organizations to undertake monitoring, watchdog activities and journalistic investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A sustainable dialogue between CSOs and the Government will be developed with the participation of CSOs, to strengthen the anti-corruption institutional mechanisms and to establish a single, independent anti-corruption agency with the participation of CSOs, and to criminalize Article 20 (Illicit Enrichment) of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Armenia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Small grants will be given to CSOs and Media organizations for raising the effectiveness of public monitoring and implementation of appropriate monitoring, watchdog and investigative activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project section on <a href=\"https:\/\/iravaban.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.iravaban.net<\/a> has been created in the framework of the project.
