{"id":1719,"date":"2017-08-31T18:00:03","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T14:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=1719"},"modified":"2020-07-30T17:58:58","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T13:58:58","slug":"european-voluntary-service-evs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/1719.html","title":{"rendered":"European Voluntary Service (EVS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/index_en.htm\">Erasmus+<\/a>\u00a0programme offers young people the chance to make a difference through the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/opportunities-for-individuals\/young-people\/european-voluntary-service_en\">European Voluntary Service.<\/a><\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe European Voluntary Service (EVS) gives young people an opportunity to do<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>voluntary\u00a0work in a foreign country within or outside the European Union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The EVS\u00a0aims at developing\u00a0<strong>solidarity, mutual understanding<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>tolerance\u00a0<\/strong>among young people,\u00a0while contributing to\u00a0<strong>strengthening social cohesion<\/strong>\u00a0and promoting\u00a0<strong>active citizenship<\/strong>. Volunteers receive free\u00a0board and lodging, insurance cover and grant payments for the duration of the project.<\/p>\n<p>A successful EVS project requires close co-operation among at least three key players:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>sending organisation<\/strong>, that is responsible for the volunteer&#8217;s pre-departure. It also keeps contact with the volunteer during his\/her voluntary activity and takes care of the volunteer upon the completion of the EVS.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>receiving organisation<\/strong> ensures the volunteer&#8217;s safety, good living and working conditions, as well as the successful implementation of the project. It also supports the volunteer in cases when personal or lingustic problems arise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>coordinating organisation<\/strong> facilitates the project implementation, providing support to the project parties.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>volunteer<\/strong>\u00a0carries out self-assessment during the project, using <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youthpass.eu\/en\/youthpass\/\">Youthpass<\/a>, <\/em>which issues a certificate at the end of the project that formally recognises their learning experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">One of the organisations involved plays the role of coordinator and applies for an EU grant on behalf of the partnership.\u00a0 Organisations perform a number of roles:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>They identify volunteering opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>Develop projects that benefit the local community;<\/li>\n<li>Recruit and prepare the volunteers, host them, and ensure follow-up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><strong>Who can take part?\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Young people aged 18-30, who are willing to spend from 2 weeks to 12 months abroad as an EVS volunteer, can take part in the project.
