On November 8, Artyom Mesropyan, lawyer at the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, participated in a discussion on draft laws submitted by the SRC regarding the presentation of financial statements by NGOs. The discussion was organised in the Media Center.
During the discussion, the ALA representative presented the position of the ALA on draft laws, which recommends recalling the drafts, since in case of adoption of these draft laws, additional burdens will be placed on non-governmental organizations, which directly contradicts the principle of self-governing in the activities of NGOs.
Arman Mnatsakanyan, Head of the Legal Department of the SRC, Legal Adviser of Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center, Herikaz Tigranyan and Head of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office Arthur Sakunts also took part in the discussion.
